Incorporating repetitive features into a design plan can provide a comforting sense of unity and can help integrate unique elements that would otherwise seem out of place.

This Shell Beach, CA residence uses the Light House Sconce (LHS) with the diffused center cone in just this manner. The exterior upper level of the residence is dominated by a large circular window.  By utilizing the LHS under eaves, along the fence pilasters and near entryways, a new architectural rhythm is created.  This architectural rhythm nicely echoes the Kniphofia flower blooms that surround the property.  There is also a definite push/pull effect between the numerous rectangular forms found in the sandblasted glass fence, the cubical planters and even the deck itself. The Light House Sconce helps to bridge the gap between rigid man-made materials and the wispy, organic plant-life. The beautiful brown patina finish matches the rusty shades found all throughout the site plan, seamlessly bringing it all together.
