12 Volt Wire Selection Calculator

Many TEKA Illumination fixtures operate on 12 volts. Taking advantage of these energy-saving fixtures requires appropriate care in planning the electrical wiring system. To maintain expected lamp performance we recommend the following procedures in sizing your low-voltage wiring system.

These calculations are estimates based upon a 5% maximum voltage drop. These approximations do not consider real-world factors like temperature or other stresses. Please note that this calculator represents data specifically for use with TEKA Illumination 12V products. AWG smaller than 12 gauge or larger than 6 gauge will not be displayed or recommended.

Begin by determining your "Center of Load" by entering your data for step 1 and step 2 (you may use Enter/Tab keys while mobile users bay use Next/Go); the form will automatically generate the calculations.
