Aloha TEKA! This ocean-side home will never suffer a winter day; these Beacon Stem Mount fixtures have learned to slow down and enjoy the Hawaiian lifestyle.

This residence is located on the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands, Kauai. It's large plantation-like veranda is graced by three individual Beacon Stem Mount fixtures which are sourced with incandescent lamps. According to Sutton Suzuki Architects, "This home is distinctly modern but give the feeling of being in Hawaii in a different time - modern yet firmly rooted in the Hawaiian vernacular. The textures and colors borrow from the warmth of the landscape."

The serene environment of the Hawaiian Islands still present highly corrosive oceanic conditions for any object near them. Lower grade metals that typically have a long life-span in terrestrial construction will dissolve away when placed into a marine environment. Fortunately TEKA Illumination, born on the central coast of California, is well acclimated to marine conditions.

TEKA products are naturally corrosion resistant and are made from pure copper, bronze and stainless steel. The natural occurring patina TEKA fixtures develop actually help preserve the underlying metal by sealing it from further oxidation, salt, wind and any other damaging minerals or even pollutants that may be present in the environment.
